Convair 440

The Convair CV-340 and CV-440 are two in a series of American airliners spanning from 1947 to 1954. The model was originally commissioned by American Airlines as a replacement for its Douglas DC-3s.

The CV-340 is essentially a 240 model with four more seats and an increased wingspan to handle higher altitudes. The CV-440 "Metropolitan" was more effectively soundproofed, and was able to carry eight more passengers.

Elite has one CV-340/440 available to our clients.

In FSEconomy, the aircraft is considered one model, and carries 50 passengers or 6,012 KG of cargo at 50% fuel. The cruise speed is 230 knots. (These specifications lean toward the 440 series.)

California Classics have a freeware CV-440 model available for FS9 and FSX which is located here - http://www.calclassic.com/convair.htm Link is near the bottom of the page.

The only X-Plane model this author could find was a payware available at http://shadetreemicro.com/aircraft/convairs_files/convairs.shtml
